Each organisation sets a default overtime rate by day of the week (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The multiplier that is applied in the Timesheets Module once a timesheet is approved then depends on the day of that the overtime was worked. Overtime only start to accumulate once the employee has worked their full contractual hours for the week and after any weekly overtime threshold has been applied. For example, if the employee's contractual weekly working hours are 40 and your organisation has a threshold of 5 hours per week (meaning the first 5 hours of overtime are not recognised for overtime calculations), the system will only add the overtime hours to the overtime balance after 45 hours have been worked. Continuing the example, if the overtime rate is 150% for working on a Saturday and the employee works 4 hours on a given Saturday, the system will treat it as 6 hours of overtime compensation but only after the employee has already worked 45 hours.
