How do I set up notifications, e.g. for birthdays, work anniversaries, work permits and employment end dates?

Only System administrators can configure notifications. Go to the left sidebar > Click on ''Administration'' > Click on ''People'' > Click on ''Alerts'' > Select the entity > Select the notification type. HR can select the recipients of notifications (HR, employee, manager) and the timing (the number of days before the event).
